Export one complete annual Activity Flex XML.

BrokerTax expects one individual account, one complete calendar year and XML output. Do not combine several accounts or partial periods.

Create the query

  1. 1

    Sign in to the IBKR Client Portal and open Performance & Reports → Flex Queries. The alternative navigation is Menu → Reporting → Flex Queries.

    Use the account selector to choose one individual account, then select + Activity Flex Query.

  3. 3

    Select Account Information, Cash Report, Cash Transactions, Financial Instrument Information, Open Positions, Trades at execution level, and Transaction Fees. Add Transfers if positions moved into or out of the account.

    Choose all fields in every selected section. In Delivery Configuration, set the format to XML and include currency conversion rates.

  5. 5

    Run the query for the full calendar year you are filing, download the XML and upload that unchanged file to BrokerTax.

Before uploading

  • The report covers 1 January through 31 December of one tax year.
  • Exactly one account is selected.
  • All required sections and all fields are present.
  • The downloaded file is XML and has not been edited.
  • Transfers are included if securities entered or left the account.
